Kirkwood House

2008 St. Louis Homes and Lifestyles Platinum Award for best historical restoration.

Our Solutions

This 1860s  Victorian home in Kirkwood underwent a total renovation. The original two story home was raised and rotated 90 degrees. The original wrap around porch was extended around the new front addition. A detached three car garage with living space above was added. The original winding staircase was restored and mirrored in a new staircase. Antique light fixtures adorn the walls and ceilings. Architectural artifacts were incorporated into the finish millwork and trim. A cherry paneled library with wood burning masonry fireplace is featured in the front addition along with three other masonry fireplaces with period chimneys. An elevator goes from the basement to the third floor playroom, guest quarters and turreted office. A ground source heating and cooling system makes this 8000 square foot house both comfortable and very energy efficient.
