Our Staff

Roger Kepner

Founder

While working as an adult education instructor for Southern Illinois University Edwardsville at Scott Air Force Base, Roger decided to pursue his interest in architectural history as a hobby. His first renovation project was an 1875 Victorian home in Edwardsville. Roger continued to work part-time on his hobby while still teaching; and he employed a few of his friends to assist him with various remodeling projects when he needed them. Word of his craftsmanship and reliability spread and Roger decided to give up his teaching job for a career in remodeling. In 1977, he founded Landmark Builders. Roger has a Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of Wisconsin and did graduate work at SIU-E. Roger has completed numerous seminars, conferences and workshops in construction management and remodeling best practices. He is chairman of the Home Builders Association (HBA) Remodelers Council and serves on the Board of Directors for the HBA Charitable Foundation and Lydia’s House. Roger and his wife, Allison, love weekends at their “farm” in Jefferson County. They also travel extensively. They recently became grandparents for the first time.

Jim Duncan

President

Jim started his career as a carpenter with Landmark Builders when he was just 18 years old. The only full-time job that he has ever had, Jim has been with Landmark Builders for 34 years and has successfully worked his way up the ladder to his current position of President. His responsibilities today include sales, estimating and project management and he is currently pursuing a National Home Builders Association Certified Graduate Remodeler certification. In his spare time, Jim enjoys spending time with his wife and three children and camping, fishing, skiing and riding his motorcycle in the great outdoors.

Dan Riegel

Dan Riegel started his career as a carpenter with Landmark Builders in 1996. Throughout the years, Dan has worked his way up the ladder to his current position, President. In his spare time, Dan enjoys spending time with his family. Dan and his wife have three children and one grandchild.

Deborah Davis

Office Manager

Deborah boasts that her “jack-of-all-trades” position at Landmark Builders is the best job she has ever had. And she is almost as proud of being the “office mother” to her family of co-workers, as she is to being mother to her son, Michael. Deborah is responsible for the company’s accounts receivable/payable, human resources, general ledger and general office duties. She has worked for Landmark Builders for the past nineteen years, having previously worked 10 years as an administrative assistant for Anheuser-Busch, and a year as an administrative assistant at St. Louis University. Deborah has an Associates Degree in business from Meramec Community College. When not working, she enjoys sailing her father’s boat around New York harbor and Lake Carlyle in Illinois and tole painting.
