Founder
While working as an adult education instructor for Southern Illinois University Edwardsville at Scott Air Force Base, Roger decided to pursue his interest in architectural history as a hobby. His first renovation project was an 1875 Victorian home in Edwardsville. Roger continued to work part-time on his hobby while still teaching; and he employed a few of his friends to assist him with various remodeling projects when he needed them. Word of his craftsmanship and reliability spread and Roger decided to give up his teaching job for a career in remodeling. In 1977, he founded Landmark Builders. Roger has a Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of Wisconsin and did graduate work at SIU-E. Roger has completed numerous seminars, conferences and workshops in construction management and remodeling best practices. He is chairman of the Home Builders Association (HBA) Remodelers Council and serves on the Board of Directors for the HBA Charitable Foundation and Lydia’s House. Roger and his wife, Allison, love weekends at their “farm” in Jefferson County. They also travel extensively. They recently became grandparents for the first time.
